P:F 80s Movie Marathon

We’re all children of the 80s… or at least the late 80s/early 90s. But everyone can appreciate the Cold War themes, tight man-jeans, and bad haircuts, right? Drop in throughout the evening for a marathon of 80s favorites, such as:

The Breakfast Club
War Games
The Goonies
The Princess Bride
Top Gun
Red Dawn

Canceled: Movie Night

Posted by Laure on 2008.07.20 @ 05:22:38 pm

Because of more impending thunderstorm doom, our trek to movie night at Schenley Park has been canceled for this evening, July 20. An email notification has been sent out, but pass on the word if you know of anyone who was planning to go.

See you on Thursday (and hopefully we’ll get to have Movie Night on July 30)!

Meeting At Duff Park This Week

Posted by Laure on 2008.07.14 @ 04:17:51 pm

Because of Vacation Bible School being held in the evenings at MCC this week, our regular Project:Fracture meeting will be held at Duff Park in Murrysville.

We’ll be continuing our discussion about John Eldredge’s book Walking With God, but no reading is required. Just come ready to talk!

If it’s raining on Thursday, check here to see if plans have changed. We’ll be meeting in the main covered pavilion, so, chances are, we’ll still be meeting.

Movie Night Cancelled

Posted by Joel on 2008.06.29 @ 05:02:37 pm

Because of the impending thunderstorm doom forecasted for tonight, our trek to movie night at Schenley Park has been cancelled for June 29th. An email notification has been sent out, but if you can think of any people who were considering going, but don’t check their email every 15 seconds, it would be great if you could contact them.

See everyone at our regular scheduled time on Thursday!

Thursday, June 12

Posted by Laure on 2008.06.13 @ 12:13:26 am

It’s official. Project:Fracture has begun!

We had our kick-off event tonight with copious amounts of food and beverage, provided by Marissa. If you missed out on tonight’s meeting, fear not. There were leftovers, and we will bring the non-perishables to next week’s meeting.

Tonight, we played a rousing round of Apples to Apples, followed by several rounds of electronic Catch Phrase. Both of which sufficiently broke any “ice” that people may have felt. It was a great turn-out for our first meeting… we had 10 people!

Relevant Magazine
For anyone who was curious about the Relevant Magazine I mentioned tonight, check out their website for more info. FYI, their weekly podcast is hilarious. I highly recommend it (especially if you think you might like random discussion involving Gary Busey and badgers).

In other news, we’re on Facebook (Thanks, Eddie)! So check us out there if that’s your kind of thing.

Next meeting: Thursday, June 19 @ 7:30 pm

something new and different

[ Insert drum roll sound effect here. ]

Welcome to the brand spanking new home of Project:Fracture, a new ministry of Murrysville Community Church [ view MCC site » ].

If you are in college, have started your career, or are between the ages of 19 and 30, this group is for you!

Our first (a.k.a. “the kick-off”) meeting will be:
Thursday, June 12
7:30-9:30 pm
@ MCC.

There will be various snacks of both the salty and sweet varieties, so be sure to tell your friends and head over to MCC on Thursday (and every Thursday ever after).
